3/17/2024 0 Comments Duo mobile app battery use![]() ![]() Holding the power button for 1 minute does nothing. Same thing when its plugged in but it shows the plugged in symbol. That symbol flashes on the screen for about 5 seconds then goes away. I've attached photos I took to show what pops up on the screen when the power button is pushed. I'm hoping it didn't brick the phone because it crashed once the hard reset process had started. I immediately went into the settings and started a hard reset of everything annnnd part way through the phone screen shut off and the low battery indicator popped up on the left hand screen again. I just got home and finally got the phone to start up. My assumption is that somehow connecting the phone via bluetooth to my car stereo (its an ATOTO Android double din unit) or turning on the wifi hotspot somehow screws the phone? I was smart enough to bring my old Note 8 with me today so when I got to work I took the sim card out of my Surface Duo and back into my Note 8. I don't know what the odds of getting the exact same issue with a phone two times especially when this doesn't seem to be a widespread issue. About 25 minutes into my drive I realized my phone was turned off and when I pushed the power button all I got was that sample blinking low battery indicator. This morning I jumped in my truck and turned on the wifi hotspot for the first time and then connected the phone to my trucks stereo via bluetooth for the first time. Loaded in my accounts and got everything all set up. I started from scratch without a back up to make sure everything was fresh. I didn't set up the new Duo though till yesterday. I put in for a replacement and it arrived on Friday. ![]() about 2 weeks in I had the same issue you are talking about. If none of the above steps resolve your issue, and you receive an error message, please gather this message and send it to or along with what happened right before the message appeared, and we'll help troubleshoot.I bought the Surface Duo from best buy a month and 5 days ago. To receive pushes again, you will need to reactivate Duo Mobile. However, passcodes generated by Duo Mobile will likely continue to work. This will cause push notification actions and response to transactions in-app to no longer work. This likely happened because the keys we use to sign our requests to Duo Mobile have disappeared from your device. If you attempt to pull-to-refresh a pending authentication with no success, you may see an error message saying there was a problem and to talk to an admin. Note that power-saving features such as Battery Optimization and Background Data may interfere with the notification waking your device, even if the notification is delivered successfully. On Android, you can generally access these settings by going to Settings > Apps & notifications > App info/All apps > Duo Mobile > Data usage. To resolve this issue, ensure that access to background data is enabled for Duo Mobile. If you are using a data saver program, ensure that it is set to exempt Duo Mobile via the "Unrestricted data usage" toggle. Background data for Duo Mobile is turned on, but unrestricted data usage is off.
